BioName: James Hunter
Appearance: 6', dark brown hair and blue eyes.
Personality: He was a dreamer child, his head in the clouds. As an adult, that inner child still shines through in ways that might seem reckless to some around him. It's almost like he has no fear, at least for himself. He cares deeply about his comrades, and will risk his life to save theirs. There's something driving him to push himself even further, to take that next risk.
Bio: Jim Hunter was born on the 4th of July, 1970, and for the first few years of his life, he simply assumed that the fireworks were all just for him. His worldview took a hit when he realised the truth, right around the time he realised there's no Santa Claus, the tooth fairy doesn't take inflation into account, and he couldn't really make a lightsabre out of a flashlight and his mom's cubic zirconia. Not long after, it sank in that he was getting his facts from the wrong sources, and started looking to Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking instead of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg for his knowledge of the universe.
This worked well for him. Science was pretty much the only class he was any good at in school, though with a B average he wasn't exceptionally impressing anyone. The more he thought about it as time went on, the more he wanted to become an astronaut, partly for the adventure, partly due to the fact he just didn't have the maths for an astrophysicist or astronomer. To that end, he joined the Air Force, did his best to shine up his science fu, and upon becoming an officer, began the endless, and some say relentless, campaign to get into the space programme. He applied. And applied. And applied yet again. Some might say that repeating the same action and expecting different results is a sign of insanity, but Jim never bought into that idea. He figured, perhaps someday they might get sick of his applications and just let him in to shut him up.
When they finally did, it wasn't what he was expecting. Instead of the space programme, he was reassigned to a top secret operation taking place under NORAD, the Stargate Command--this, only weeks before he was selected to go with the Atlantis expedition. Perhaps instead of shutting him up, they simply wanted to get rid of him. But he didn't care, he was going where no one had gone before. He stepped through the gate with a grin on his face.
